Buddy

Today, I am going to talk about my Buddy.  He is my oldest child.  He is my guinea pig on this adventure called parenting.

First of all, he is probably the kid most like me.  I GET how his mind works better than I do the others.  This could change over time, but right now, he is the least complicated puzzle to me.  We are a LOT alike, in ways I love..like how he is ALWAYS thinking and questioning things, and in ways I HATE....like when he gets distracted and takes FOREVER doing an assigned task (I am writing instead of doing the housework that awaits me today)

He LOVES all things Star Wars.  LOVES.  Today our DISH receiver died, taking with it all our recorded shows....including Clone Wars, his favorite cartoon.  He was nearly in tears (at 9 years old) because of it.  I HATE when I can't make their disappointments go away, so sad.  Back to Buddy.....He can tell you about nearly every character on the Cartoon, and at least the first 3 movies (being the last 3 made in the backwards Lucas world)  He just is obsessed.

This isn't an uncommon thing to his makeup.  When he was really little he LOVED cars, keys, and cell phones. I was terrified of someone taking off with him by just simply jangling their keys...like the pied piper.  So, when he was four, Big Guy and I took him to see CARS when it came out in theaters.  He loved it, was MESMERIZED by the big screen and that they were ALL CARS.  That obsession passed, and was largely replaced by Star Wars....but a classic car can still get him talking for an hour.

He is also super smart....well, okay maybe not SUPER smart, as in his IQ being higher than average, but....he LOVES to learn and is generally geeky.....Not Sheldon  geeky, but geeky.  He loves to read, loves to learn History, and LOVES Latin.  He also has an amazing memory, which I am trying to cram as many Bible verses into as I can, before this amazing gift goes away.

He is a truly wonderful kid, wouldn't purposefully hurt anyone, because he is so sensitive to how others feel, but, he does have a temper, which he tends to show through arguing with anyone who doesn't see things his way.  Kids, adults, you name it, he will argue his point with you till the cows go home. I am convinced he coined the phrase, "I was just..."

I love him, he is my Buddy

This is him a camp this Summer, he was
proud that he hit the paper with the bb
